MARIATOM
1994 TB Gelding - Dk B/Br - 16.1hh
|
|
Sire: Irish Tower
Dam: Special Mistress (Deputy Minister)
Thomas, as he is known around the farm, is and old racing warrior turned event horse. I found Thomas on the CANTER Pennsylvania trainer listings and knew right away that he was a special horse. Something about the 14 year old fuzzy gelding in the photos made me smile, and I made the call to his wonderful owner/trainer to inquire about him. Pretty soon, Thomas was on a van on his way to Kentucky to start his new career as an event horse.
On the track, Thomas started an unbelievable 144 times over his incredible 12 year racing carrer. He earned nearly $270k during this time. All this, and Thomas retired sound, and in great shape looking ahead towards his new career.
Thomas came to the farm in August of 2008, and in October, completed his very first horse trial at Octoberfest, at the KHP. While he was only entered in the Starter division, he was a super star, finishing on his dressage score, and showing a great enjoyment for his new work!
Thomas has been living the good life, and has been on a bit of a vacation lately due to the weather here in KY. We are hoping to get him going again this spring. He has been out and about on the occasional trail ride and hack, and, as always, is the ultimate professional!

Bridle Party - Fall 2009
|
Sire: Untuttable
Dam: Slew Plate Special (Slew the Slewor)
Bridle Party, aka Buttons, is our very first homebred and is dearly loved by the entire Dufort Eventing family. She was born at our Madison, GA location, Lionlight Farm and was raised among some top notch event horses. She has been started under saddle and will be out competing in 2010 as a 5 yr old. We have taken our time brining Buttons along to ensure that she will have a long and successful eventing career. We have high hopes for our girl!

VANNING WEST
2004 TB Mare - Bay - 16.0hh
|
Sire: Way West (FR)
Dam: Van Van (Vanlandingham)
"Bug" is a lovely mare with a wonderful personality. She is a 3/4 sister to our homebred Ivan Ivan, and a half sister to Evanscourt. Bug was purchased late in 2008 from the track, where she won three times while starting in 21 races.
Like her brothers, and her dam, Bug shows Rabicano markings. She has heavy roaning scattered throughout her coat.
Bug will stay with us, and after she has finished her competitive career, she will follow in her mothers footsteps and join our small broodmare band

IVAN IVAN
2006 TB Gelding - Dk B/Br - 16.1hh
|
Sire: Double Honor
Dam: Van Van (Vanlandingham)
2 starts - 1 win
Ivan is our first homebred to race and is very special to us. Ivan won at first asking in a 5k MSW at River Downs. He drew away to win by 4 lengths under very little urging and came out of the race in fine fashion!
Ivan has returned to Brooklawn, and is starting his training towards an eventing career. He is always sweet, fun and every so silly. He and his sister (and 20 yr old mother as well) are all a bit goofy. We LOVE their personalities!

BLUEGRASS MEMORIES
Bay Colt - Foaled: February 17th, 2010
|
Sire: Bluegrass Cat
Dam: Memories Of Silver (Silver Hawk)
"Navi" is a regally bred colt out of the brilliant race mare, Memories Of Silver. He came to Brooklawn Farm in October of 2010 as a weanling for more individualized attention. He has developed into quite the athlete, and continues to improve daily. He is going to be a phenomenal looking horse as he continues to mature physically. Our hope is that Navi will live up to his pedigree and the race records of his siblings. His half sister, Winter Memories, ran a hard fought second in the 2010 Breeders Cup Juvenile fillies Turf at Churchill Downs. We are very excited about Navi's future at Brooklawn Farm.

Sire: Vanlandingham
Dam: Mulberry Moon (Our Native)
JC Name: Diamondham
Diamond is my once in a lifetime horse. We found him as a 6 yr old just off the track in Florida while looking for my next event horse. In January, 2000, Diamond came to live with us in GA and began his eventing career. He quickly proved that he was a top quality horse with unlimited potential. Diamond excelled at the Classic Three Day format. He became one of the top Advanced horses in Area III and represented the YR's at the 2003 NAYRC in Bromont while earning a Team Silver and Individual Bronze at the CCI**. His final major performance came in the Fall of 2004 at the Poplar Place Advanced HT where he finished 2nd behind the amazing Courageous Comet, while being one of only two horses to go double clean XC and SJ, and finishing on his Dressage Score. Diamond retired in the spring of 2005 due to an injury sustained while playing in his paddock. He is now the most amazing babysitter and spends his days lounging in his field while looking after the farms babies. He still loves going for the occasional ride and showing beginers the ropes. I have been very lucky to have him in my life, and he owes me nothing. I will always think of him as the best horse I will ever have the honor of riding.

CODE RED
1991 AQHA Gelding - Sorrel - 15.1hh
|
Sire: Ima Majestic Man
Dam: Tina Morita (Tommy Dog)
AQHA Name: Man's Best Friend
Cody was my first horse, and has been with me for 15 years. Together we competed up through the Prelim level across Area III. Cody has brought several riders up through the levels and just completed his very first Long format T3D in October 2009 at the age of 18! It is a well known fact among those who know him that Cody is a mischevious fellow. Cody is back at Brooklawn farm, currently on winter vacation. He will be coming out in the spring to teach more riders what eventing is all about.
Cody's 20th Birthday is coming up in April......My old man is still convinced that he is 3 years old, and is always up to his sneaky ways.
